Does Photoshop Have Album Templates? Where to Find Them
New album designers often look for an 'album template' option inside Photoshop. Photoshop does include some document presets and access to Adobe Stock templates, but it does not come with a ready library of Indian-style wedding album sheets such as 12x36 Karizma layouts. Most designers use PSD templates from other sources or build their own.
What Photoshop includes
When you create a new document (File > New), Photoshop shows presets for common print and screen sizes and a selection of templates, many from Adobe Stock. Some are free and some require a licence. These templates tend to be general-purpose: social media posts, flyers, photo collages and mockups. They rarely match Indian album sizes and styles, so you will still need to adapt them.
Setting up your own album canvas
You can create a blank album canvas in a few seconds:
- File > New, set the width and height in inches (for example 36 x 12 for a 12x36 spread).
- Set the resolution, typically 300 or 200 pixels per inch, as your lab requires.
- Choose RGB colour, 8-bit, and the sRGB profile.
- Save it as a preset so it appears in the New Document dialog next time.
Then add guides for the centre fold (18 inches on a 36 inch sheet) and safe margins. A blank canvas is useful for custom designs and for adapting layouts.

What makes a good album template
- Layered, with photo frames as clipping-mask bases.
- Built at the correct proportions and resolution for your album size.
- Grouped and named layers so you can find frames, text and decorations easily.
- Editable text layers for names and dates.
- Decorations that can be hidden or recoloured.
Avoid flattened JPG 'templates' with transparent holes; they are hard to adapt and often low resolution.
Safety when downloading
Download templates from reputable sources. Be cautious with password-protected ZIPs, executable files or sites that require you to install software. A genuine PSD download is a .psd file, usually inside a ZIP; it never needs to be 'run'.
